Mr. Mir Ariful Islam is the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Sandhani Asset Management Limited, where he has been leading the organization since its inception. With over 19 years of experience in the financial industry, he possesses extensive expertise in capital market research, portfolio management, product structuring, and servicing foreign, institutional, and high-net-worth individual investors. He successfully established Sandhani AML from scratch, overseeing licensing, regulatory compliance, fund management, and strategic business development. One of his most notable achievements is pioneering Bangladesh’s first no-dividend open-end mutual fund, successfully raising BDT 1,000 million, which marked a significant milestone in the country’s mutual fund industry.

Prior to joining Sandhani AML, Mr. Islam served for more than a decade at Prime Finance Asset Management Company Limited, culminating as Assistant General Manager and Head of Research & Fund Management, where he played a key role in portfolio construction, fund design, corporate advisory, and institutional research development. Earlier, he worked at LankaBangla Securities Limited in the Research & Analysis and Foreign & Institutional Trade divisions. He holds an MBA in Accounting & Information Systems and a BBA in Finance from the University of Dhaka, is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB), and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Islamic Banking and Finance under Edupro Quality Assured Service, United Kingdom. Mr. Islam has been actively involved in ADB, IFC–DFID, and Monash University-funded research programs, published articles on capital market governance, and regularly contributes as a trainer, guest lecturer, examiner, article reviewer, and panelist at leading academic and professional institutions. He has also participated in numerous training programs, seminars, conferences, and workshops organized by institutions in Bangladesh and abroad, reflecting his continued commitment to the development and strengthening of Bangladesh’s capital market.
